Albacore Reports Filtering In

Tuna captains are itching to get onto the Pacific this weekend as early albacore reports surface on the net and elsewhere.

About a week ago or so, our writer Larry Ellis mentioned that tuna were being caught out of Brookings on the South Coast, and now it appears as if the fast finners have moved up the Oregon shore.

On June 30, Yaquina Bay Charters reported a commercial boat catching tuna within sport range, and now just over the top of Otter Rock and Cape Foulweather, Depoe Bay’s Dockside Charters is reporting, “The Tuna are here! There have been fish caught at 15 to 25 miles.  We are ready.”
